Biography
Tamannah Harooni is an Associate Clinical Social Worker in the State of California who provides holistic, trauma-informed psychotherapy to individuals and couples. She specializes in supporting clients navigating trauma, multigenerational trauma, addiction, relationship challenges, and the emotional complexities of bicultural identity. Her work includes the use of EMDR, a trauma therapy that gently helps the nervous system process experiences that were too overwhelming at the time they occurred.
Tamannah has advanced training through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) as an ASAT/CSAT candidate, with specialized focus on sex and pornography addiction, betrayal trauma, and compulsive behavior recovery. Through a trauma-informed lens, she helps clients understand that compulsive patterns often develop as ways to cope with unmet emotional needs or unresolved pain, rather than as moral flaws.
As a Muslim immigrant South Asian woman, Tamannah understands how identity, culture, and family expectations shape the way people carry pain. She creates a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood and supported as they move toward a more grounded, authentic life, one step at a time.
