Biography
Sarah Hajar Darwish is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Counseling. She has more than 6 years working with diverse populations, including Muslim and Middle Eastern immigrant communities, from a trauma-informed perspective. Sarah is trained in TF-CBT and is currently training in PC-CARE. Sarah has a strong background in school counseling, having worked with elementary, middle, high school, and college students, as well as providing support in nonprofit and private practice settings including Opening Doors Inc, REDA, and Rahma Center. As a 2021-2023 APA Interdisciplinary Minority Fellow, her research and writing interests include mental health in the Middle East and Islam and has published and presented in various settings including SAGE Publishing and the UC Davis Mind Institute.
Sarah integrates culturally sensitive approaches with evidence-based therapeutic practices. She is passionate about promoting mental health within faith-based communities and is committed to creating safe, supportive spaces for her clients. Her goal is to support the mental health and well-being of all individuals, fostering resilience and healing within their communities.
