Biography
Sabreen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Masters of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. Her theoretical orientation is integrative. She believes that every individual is unique and deserves a safe, warm, non-judgmental, and caring therapeutic environment to facilitate their healing journey. She incorporates a holistic approach to therapy that is tailor-made to meet the client’s need and goals, building on their strengths and inner resources. Her deep style of therapy utilizes interventions ranging from psychodynamic, object relations, relational as well as attachment-based models. She incorporates a family systems approach and builds in mindfulness, positive psychology, and narrative therapy. She follows the TIIP model of psychotherapy as an underlying framework for all therapeutic work.
Sabreen has worked in clinical and school-based settings. She has carried out research focusing on the experiences and needs of Muslim American youth. She also has experience working with parents and families in building stronger bonds and improving relationships by developing tools to foster connection and understanding within families. She provides services in English and Urdu.
Outside of her clinical work, Sabreen holds close to 20 years of experience working in local and national non-profit organizations, serving diverse communities. She is passionate about community wellness on all levels and in creating healing and therapeutic spaces for individuals, families, and communities.
