Biography

Halimah Esa is a second-year graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the College of Staten Island. She is passionate about mental health awareness and committed to breaking the stigma surrounding it, particularly within minority communities. As an advocate for social justice, Halimah believes in promoting equity and culturally responsive care in all aspects of mental health services. Through her internship with the Khalil Center she aims to strengthen her clinical skills, support underserved populations, and contribute to creating more inclusive and accessible spaces for healing.
