Biography

Aysegul is a graduate practicum intern at the Khalil Center. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Work and a Master of Science in Applied Psychology, both completed in Türkiye. Her academic and professional background has provided her with an interdisciplinary perspective on mental health, family well-being, and human development.

Aysegul's clinical work centers on supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and significant life transitions. She works through a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and faith-integrated lens, viewing each client's cultural background, values, and spiritual life as meaningful sources of strength and healing.

Her experience includes individual and family counseling, community-based mental health services, and psychoeducational workshops supporting family well-being and resilience. Aysegul holds training in EMDR (Levels I & II), Gottman Method Couple Therapy, Play Therapy, Family Counseling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Sandtray Therapy. She is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society.

Aysegul strives to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. She believes that healing and growth occur through meaningful relationships, and she values working alongside clients to build upon their strengths, navigate challenges, and move toward greater well-being.
