When an individual comes to Khalil Center seeking counseling/therapy services, he/she is scheduled for an intake session that is composed of gathering the presenting problem and the historical background of the individual. Please be advised that, the first session is NOT counseling. Rather it is an opportunity for the therapist/counselor to determine whether the client is appropriate for counseling and to collaboratively structure a treatment plan guided by the counselor/therapist.
Usually at the end of the intake session, recommendations are made as to how to proceed. The first counseling session, after intake often involves building the counseling relationship between client and therapist and determining a treatment plan.
All case history and content is kept strictly confidential in accordance with HIPPA privacy regulations and the state confidentiality regulations. Any case details would only be discussed among the treatment team and supervision for the purposes of optimizing services.
