Participants will gain practical tools and insights to help them navigate the joys and difficulties of parenthood and leave with a renewed sense of community and confidence in their abilities as caregivers!

This one-time mothers peer support group at Khalil Center will provide a safe and confidential space for parents to connect with others who share similar experiences and concerns. In this group, participants will have the opportunity to learn from each other, share their own struggles and successes, and receive emotional support and validation. The group will focus on topics such as parenting challenges, self-care, coping skills, and strategies for promoting family resilience. Through guided discussions, participants will gain practical tools and insights to help them navigate the joys and difficulties of parenthood. By the end of the session, parents will leave with a renewed sense of community and confidence in their abilities as caregivers.

Sumayya Mehmood is a registered (candidate) Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSSW). She earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Toronto specializing in mental health and health.
