Marketing Manager

Full-time position in Lombard

Job Purpose

Khalil Center is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead marketing campaigns and marketing projects – from creative brief to launch! This is a mid-level role for a professional who can work independently, think critically, and apply basic marketing principles to project work. You’ll be responsible for various aspects of the marketing department including marketing campaigns, digital projects, marketing research, and creative copywriting. This candidate should have a strong desire to learn and grow in a marketing role and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced ever-changing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities 

The following are the primary day-to-day responsibilities for this position. These are not exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Spearhead the creation of a marketing content plan aligned with strategic priorities for Khalil Center

  • Work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Operations, Director of Development, and the Marketing team to develop solutions that meet marketing campaign objectives

  • Manage marketing campaigns and marketing efforts in conjunction with Graphic Designer, Director of Development, and Social Media Manager.

  • Oversee content creation and scheduling of relevant campaigns on social media platforms ensuring consistent growth in account followers and engagement utilizing mainstream scheduling and analytical tools.

  • Curating meaningful email newsletter campaigns using successful segmentation methods to reach a global Khalil Center audience end-to-end including copywriting, design coordination, and segmented scheduling.

  • Must be well-versed in one of many mainstream CRM platforms to aid in audience management including donors and subscribers.

  • Maintain an active pulse in all incoming correspondence and programming/marketing related inquiries via email or social handles.

  • Update and maintain Khalil Center website in collaboration with webmaster including staff profiles, event page generation, copy edits, and brand standardization.

  • Develop and direct all marketing content, print & digital, across all global events, international trainings, and seminars coupled with strategic marketing plans that drive registration spanning 3-6 months in advance.

  • Expand Khalil Center’s virtual academy through the coordination of course recordings, video editing, and skilled utilization of internal learning management systems.

  • Lead meaningful design projects in collaboration with the Graphic Designer to produce noteworthy content that has application across digital and physical events including workbooks, slide decks, textbooks, etc.

  • Connect and collaborate with all Khalil Center satellite locations to ensure consistent upkeep of necessary brand materials (promotional materials, table covers, banners, etc.).

  • Develops measurable goals and objectives with guidance from leadership; monitors own progress and uses feedback to make adjustments

  • Projects a positive and polished professional image of Khalil Center in all contexts

  • Supports department/unit annual planning process; informs major tactics and tactics 

  • Clearly and consistently articulates departmental visions and strategies

Qualifications and Skills 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, or related field , combined with 3 - 5 years of professional experience. Experience in marketing/communications/advertising in one of the following areas: marketing, communications, public relations, advertising agency, or brand management is strongly desired

  • Intermediate understanding of marketing concepts, creative development processes [creative brief, working with creative directors, media buying and planning (desired)]

  • Non-profit experience is a plus

  • Strong project management skills with experience in mainstream management softwares highly desirable 

  • Ability to review creative concepts and provide detailed follow-through on campaigns 

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) - interpersonal skills are essential

  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and consistency including adherence to brand guidelines and standards

  • Ability to work and thrive under pressure in a fast paced, deadline driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude and sense of humor 

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States

Working Conditions 

  • 40 Hours a week

  • Professional office setting, relaxed Islamic business attire

  • Working out of the Khalil Center Lombard office

  • This role operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
