Biography
Melissa Daoud converted to Islam in 2001, and was born and raised in the United States. Melissa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Jose State University. Immediately after earning her undergraduate degree she continued her education at San Jose State University where she completed her Master’s degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Research and Experimental Psychology. Melissa is licensed as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, and completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University in 2017.
Melissa’s approach to psychotherapy is collaborative and integrative, as she believes the best therapy is tailored to the individual. She utilizes interventions from psychodynamic, attachment theory, family systems, and evidence-based psychotherapies.
Since 2016, Melissa has extensive clinical experience with children, teens, young adults, and their families, providing both individual and family therapy. Melissa also has experience working as a school counselor in elementary, middle, and high school settings. In addition to working with youth, Melissa enjoys working with parents, converts to Islam, and pre-marital couples.
